PIRATE RADIO IS NOW AVAILABLE TO US CITIZENS WHILE IN US WATERS !!!
Taking advantage of the enormous volume of this hull, the Nordhavn 86 offers accommodations that are nothing short of remarkable. The saloon and galley measures 36 feet in length, the master cabin and head are full width consuming the aft/upper section of the vessel and the combination of wheelhouse. In addition to the master stateroom and crew quarters, the vessel includes four additional guest staterooms with ensuite heads. A laundry and utility room are also provided. The luxurious and functional interior is finished with fine hardwoods, beautiful moldings and raised panels combined with stone floors, granite countertops, the finest hardware, lighting and fixtures. Construction of the 86 is conventional fiberglass, built to extremely heavy scantlings using beautifully constructed female molds for the entire hull and deck. This Nordhavn flagship further received a complete AlexSeal paint job in 2014. Designed and built to the latest international standards, each new Nordhavn 86 can be built to ABS certification with +A1 Yachting Service rating for the hull and AMS rating for machinery and installation as an option. Twin MTU Series 60 engines rated at 600 hp each spinning 48-inch propellers through 3.43 to 1 reduction gears allow a transatlantic cruising speed of 12 knots. With over 7,000 gallons of fuel aboard and throttled back to the 10 knot range, this design can run roughly 4,000 miles before refueling. This twin configuration includes integral skegs and two large attached rudders for maximum directional control and propellers that are protected within their own apertures. The advanced high-pressure, common rail, electronically injected engines are fitted with wet exhaust, commercial rated transmissions with large reduction gears and offer efficiency and reliability never before possible. An extensive list of standard machinery details includes a central hydraulics with 20-square-foot stabilizers, 50 hp bow and stern thrusters, hydraulic bilge pumping and anchor wash downs, high output hydraulic alternators and 8kw inverter system, dual Northern light 33kw generators, a universal AC electrical system for world wide use, 3,500 lb. Marquipt davit, chilled water air-conditioning system, and automatic engine room / lazarette fire system with ventilation dampeners. Please read through this detailed listing and see what makes “Pirate Radio” a very special world class passagemaker.
Salon:
Going forward from the aft deck through large glass doors, you enter the expansive salon. You are greeted by all
new soft goods, and a gorgeous tufted leather lounge chair. This interior and layout makes this a great area for
entertaining guests. The entire salon has wood flooring throughout for a very clean and elegant look. The joinery
work throughout the salon is in Maple, complimented by Burled Walnut.
The views from any seat in the salon are exceptional, as seen in the photographs in this listing. This is made
possible by extensive and lower positioned port/starboard windows.
Dining:
The dining area seats eight comfortably at a beautifully designed maple wood in-laid table. The maple wood feature
and overhead lighting above the table separates this area from the rest of the salon area.
Just forward of the dining area is a raised bar area with three leather wrapped fixed barstools and a pass through
to the galley. To starboard of the formal dining on the main deck is a small niche for an owner’s office, with a great
view.
Master Stateroom:
The master stateroom on Pirate Radio is situated aft of the pilothouse. The king size berth is center in the
stateroom with vast windows to each side and massive glass doors aft which lead to a private exterior deck. This
stateroom has the best views by far onboard Pirate Radio, where you can enjoy unobstructed views while
underway or at anchor. There is a drop TV from the overhead at the foot of the master berth. The upper location of
this cabin really allows for the ultimate in owner privacy. The owners ensuite head features an expansive shower,
separate toilet room and his and her sinks. This area is also lined with impressive stone work. Both the master
head and stateroom are equipped with ample live aboard storage areas.
Guest Staterooms:
Two steps down from the main deck is the port guest/captain forward and the starboard guest stateroom. The
larger one to starboard will comfortably accommodate your closest guests. The starboard guest cabin on this main
level is a bit smaller, but perfect for keeping the children or grandchildren close by.
The lower deck has two additional VIP staterooms port and starboard (the two VIP staterooms can be rearranged
as either two singles in each cabin or king beds). All guest cabins have ensuite heads.
In the lower hallway just forward of the watertight door is a laundry/utility room with a full-size washer and dryer,
storage and freezer space. This watertight door also keeps the noise in this area down to a minimum.
Crew Area:
Aft of the engine room is the comfortable crew quarters. Two cabins with ample over and under berths and storage,
full head with enclosed shower and a secondary crew “galley” area with microwave and refrigerator. This really
allows for both guests and crew to have their own private areas.
Forward of the salon is a large galley with extensive commercial grade appliances. This is a chef’s dream galley.
The galley has excellent visibility port and starboard. There are three bar stools at the raised galley counter for
entertaining while cooking.
Miele appliances in the galley are new as of 2020. Equipment includes:
Security:
Entertainment:
Flybridge Electronics:
Navigation:
Communication:
21′ Zodiac Center Console with 175 HHP Yamaha outboard
